Christmas Cards for a good cause.

Mum can you make some cards for our 'Relay for Life' Stall ask's my daughter.
Sure say's I, Is anyone else making them.
No! they are not as Arty Farty as you.
Me,??????????????????????????????????

Now I know that the statement is not true, well about me being the only Arty Farty mum at my kids school.
and that the point does not really come into the argument anyway.

We have a cause to raise money for so off to work I went.

And these are the results.

Now as most of my Arty Farty friends know as a rule I don't do Christmas cards.

I have been known to have them all ready and they don't make the letter box.
 So I have given up.
I love the new thinlets from Stampin Up!
Even the negative comes in handy

I thought I would do some gift tags as well while I                                                                                 was at it.

It's a great way to use up your scrappy bits.
( Susan D you should be proud of me)

So not too shabby for someone who normally fails at this task.

Just my little bit to help raise some money for such a worthy cause

Qick and Easy Card

I needed to make a card rather quickly and I left it to the last minute yet again.
This is what I managed to produce, the little card of the tea cup is from Typo, they have the best little tins of cards and I am slightly addicted.
I used my Big Shot to emboss the backing piece and the stripey paper is from The Thrift Shop collection.
Add a little bit of ribbon and voila.
I am quite happy with the result I just hope the intended recipient feels the same.

Circus Album, a Catapult Experience

Catapult Festival 2012

My Daughters circus troupe were lucky enough to attend The Catapult Youth Circus Festival in Bathurst in 2012.

It was a truly exciting and amazing experience not only for the kids but for us parents who got to take them.

I was very inspired by the whole experience and wanted to create something for my daughter to remember it by, so I created this mini album.

I am really pleased with the results especially since it took a while to complete.

I just hope it becomes a treasure for my daughter in years to come.

Christening Card

I know what you all may be thinking

Christening card for Harlan

this is not a christening card, well in the traditional sense anyway

And yes you would be correct, But for those who know me, know I am not really a traditionalist.

I got this stamp from stampinup and have been waiting for the right time to use it and I felt today was the day.
I love the simple and idealistic elements of the stamp and thought that the caption betrays what we all forget sometimes.
So I am hoping that Little Harlan ( Who I made the card for) remembers this saying and has a life filled with happiness found in the simplest of moments with the people he loves.

Plain and Simple Cards

I have not been on this blog for a while, which I have found quite dissapointing, I hate it when life gets in the way of the things I love to do.
So now that I have found a moment to share some of the projects that I have been doing, I did these cards whilst on a scrapping weekend with some of my wonderful friends.
They are quite simple but that is what I think I like most about them.
Hope you think the same.

Teenager Male Card

What card do you make for a teenager you ask.
Well that's exactly what I thought.
I was quite happy with the result, because cards are a challenge for me and being a teenage one makes it even more challenging.
\
I believe he liked it but who would know with 16 year olds. :)

Male Car Card

I can finally reveal this card that I did for my brother in laws birthday,
I created it and sent it months ago and have had to wait untill today to be able to post it here.

I have heard he liked it so it was worth the wait.

Butterflies for Babies

I needed to make a card for a friends baby shower and headed over to Scrapped Jack http://aussiescrapjack.blogspot.com.au/ for some inspiration, I was lucky to find that Mandy and Dana provided exactly what I needed.
It was also nice to be able to use Butterflies as my friend was thinking of using butterflies when decorating her baby's room,
So thank you Mandy and Dana for providing the right inspiration  to create a card for my girlfriend but I can also enter it in this months challenge.
Thanks
Tan

How do I do it

I am not sure about anyone else but I get quite amazed that I can create anything.
As you can see by my craft bench there is stuff everywhere, this is as some of my work colleagues that how I normally like to work, I like my desk organised and a place for everything.
Well as you can see my place for everything is currently everywhere.
I am not too worried over this fact I am more I would say complexed as to how I actually get anything done.

The one that caused me grief.

Well this is it the card that nearly led me to have a heart attack.
I am not sure why I get so worked up over cards, as you can see it is not overly difficult or elaborate, It could be that there is limited space or that cards are quite personal and I want to do a really nice job.
Don't know will keep on endeavoring to beat this phobia I have with cards or just get my daughter to do them instead.

The Botanical Gardens

I have already scrapped a page similar to this one, But thought I better do one for each of my kids albums. So here is my second version using the same photos.
I actually started this one some time ago and finally managed to get it finished last weekend, this is when I love boys weekends, plenty of time for me to scrap relatively uninterrupted

I love the size of these photos it enables me to fit lots of photos on a page.

The writing was created with my lovely Cricut Imagine,  what did I do before I had one I ask?

Sorry that the page is not to clear I had to take it with my phone, as I am having trouble getting photos of my camera card. I am hoping to have this rectified soon so I can take clearer shots, But at least you get an idea of the page layout once the side section is flipped out.
